Sounds like an oxymoron right? The truth is conventional soaps may shock you when you learn what is really in them. Here are the 6 main harmful chemicals. There are a lot more harmful chemicals in soaps but this is to name just a few. #1 Fragrances- Human engineered scent can contain 3,000 plus ingredients that are Hormone disruptors and allergens. #2 Parabens- are endocrine disruptors and may alter hormone functions.#3 Sodium lauryeth sulphate-can trigger skin irritations and allergies. #4 Methlysothiazolanone-preservatives that are common irritants and studies show a neurotoxin. #5 Triclosan and triclocarbon-antimicrobials that impact the reproductive system. #6 PEG's- solvents, softeners and thickeners that may contain carcinogens. Our skin is the largest organ it is one of the ways we absorb nutrients other than eating. Why would we knowingly use anything with chemicals. A good rule of thumb is if you cannot pronounce it its probably not good for you. Watch for words that end in -ides, -ates, -enes as well as surfactants also found in snow and rain. The less ingredients the better. Natural soaps with minimal ingredients are widely available. My favorite to date is an Olive oil soap. 3 ingredients Olive oil, water and sodium compound which is a mix of powdered barillia plant ashes locally sourced along the banks of the Jordan river and lime (sheed )which comes from farms in the area of Palestine. So smooth and soft on the skin. Super clean! It also can be used as a deodorant, dry skin or eczema. It is like silk on the skin. The best soap I have ever tried. I also love it because it is a simple product with a long history all way back to bibical times. To order click here
